Winter Session Begins – CT Chiefs Beginner Programs

Get ready for an exciting start to your hockey journey! The CT Chiefs Beginner Programs official Winter Session kicks off Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

A Program for New & Emerging Players

Whether your child has never skated before or is ready to move from introductory skating into beginner hockey, the CT Chiefs have crafted a tiered pathway to match their pace:

Why Join CT Chiefs Beginner Programs?

  • Top-notch coaching staff – our experienced coaches specialize in teaching young players the fundamentals in an encouraging environment.

  • Structured and progressive curriculum – each session builds on the last, with focus on individual skills, game understanding and teamwork.

  • Commitment to long-term growth – it’s more than just one session: we aim to develop well-rounded athletes who love hockey and are prepared for the next levels.

What You Need to Know

  • Start Date: December 7, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

  • Equipment:

    • For LTPH: skates, helmet, gloves, stick (comfortable athletic clothing is recommended). Your player receives a complimentary CT Chiefs jersey upon registration.

    • For MD: full hockey gear is required (skates, helmet with valid HECC sticker, gloves, shin guards, elbow pads, hockey pants, hockey socks, stick). A CT Chiefs jersey is included.

  • Registration: Ready to jump in? Register as soon as possible to secure your spot in the Winter Session.

  • Next Steps: After completing the LTPH program, transition to MD and then Mini-Mites—each designed to be the logical “next level” for young players.

  • Membership Requirement: All participants must register with USA Hockey as the CT Chiefs are a member organization of USA Hockey.

Why Winter is the Perfect Time to Start

  • Skating and hockey skills learned in winter translate well to spring-and-summer play and lay a strong foundation for fall-season progression.

  • Beginning in December means you’ll be ahead of the curve when other programs ramp up in the spring.

  • Indoor rink access, structured coaching, and a full winter schedule give young players time to truly develop without rushing.
