CT CHIEFS TO HOST CHARITY GAME BENEFITING CT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION
Chiefs to face Boston Junior Rangers on Sunday, September 27, 4:05 PM at Newington Arena
NEWINGTON, Conn. — The Connecticut Chiefs are proud to announce a special Charity Game benefiting Connecticut Children’s Foundation on Sunday, September 27, 4:05 PM at Newington Arena.
The Connecticut Chiefs will host the Boston Junior Rangers in an NCDC matchup, with puck drop scheduled for 4:05 p.m. Admission is a recommended $10 donation, with children admitted free. Proceeds from the event will benefit Connecticut Children’s Foundation and its efforts to support the patients, families and programs of Connecticut Children’s.
For Connecticut Chiefs Owner and President Brandon Johnson, the opportunity to support Connecticut Children’s has a deeply personal meaning. His son, Bryce, was born with a cleft lip and has undergone several surgeries and received care through the Craniofacial Program at Connecticut Children’s.
“The team at Connecticut Children’s has always gone above and beyond for Bryce and for our entire family,” Johnson said. “We’ve experienced firsthand the incredible care they provide to children and families, and this is an opportunity for our organization to give something back.”
Johnson’s wife, Kristin, added, “We felt it was time to give back to an organization that has given so much to our family.”
The charity game also provides the Chiefs with an opportunity to reinforce one of the organization’s core principles: developing young athletes means developing character both on and off the ice.
“As a hockey organization, our responsibility goes beyond teaching the game and helping players pursue their goals of playing junior and college hockey,” Johnson said. “We want our players to understand that giving back to their community and helping others are essential parts of being a good teammate and a person of strong character.”
“Connecticut Children’s has meant so much to our family,” Johnson continued. “When we had the opportunity to use a Chiefs game to support Connecticut Children’s Foundation and the children and families it serves, it was an easy decision. We’re excited to bring our players, Chiefs families, fans and the entire community together for a great afternoon of hockey and an even greater cause.”
The game will feature the Connecticut Chiefs against the Boston Junior Rangers, giving fans an opportunity to experience NCDC Junior A hockey while coming together in support of Connecticut Children’s.

ABOUT THE CONNECTICUT CHIEFS
Measured Adversity Builds Champions
Since 2008, the Connecticut Chiefs have been committed to developing more than talented hockey players. We develop confident athletes, resilient teammates, accountable leaders, and young people prepared to succeed both on and off the ice.
Our philosophy is simple: Measured Adversity Builds Champions.
Great players are not developed by avoiding challenges. They are developed by learning how to respond to them.
Every demanding practice, difficult drill, tough loss, mistake, and obstacle presents an opportunity to grow. Our coaches intentionally challenge players beyond their comfort zones while providing the instruction, support, and encouragement they need to succeed.
We believe confidence comes from preparation, leadership comes from accountability, and lasting success comes from consistent effort.
